Schields Parameter: an introduction to sediment transport

I will first introduce the Schields parameter concept in a very simple case and explain how it leads to an estimation of the sediment transport rate. Then I will discuss some of the modifications that affect the Schields parameter under more realistic conditions (bed forms, combination of wave and currents). The presentation ends with a short overview of the fields using sediment transport knowledge.
